My boyfriend and I are both 25 and have been living in London since graduating university. Although we love London (food, liveliness, open park spaces... to name a few things), we would like to experience living somewhere else while we are still young and have limited commitments.

What's important to us is not necessarily where we go (within reason), but as two career driven individuals we want to make sure that we can secure jobs that are not too dissimilar to those available in the London job market. FYI, we are unable to move with the companies we currently work for.

We have a couple of ideas, but I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone has any suggestions!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Louise,

I'm keen to throw my hat into the ring, what industry are you working in?

If your priority is to focus on your career, then different countries will have different shortcomings in specific sectors, as well as different multi-national companies operating within them.

The less exciting choice might be to stay within the 'Anglosphere', where language barriers won't prevent you from entering the job market. In which case, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US could be options. Although getting a work visa is always a tricky thing.

A good starting point might be to look through the Expat Arrivals website and to see which countries inspire your wanderlust. With a good internet connection, you can even live in Morocco, while earning a living as a freelancer.
