Hi there,
It's difficult to find a precise figure online, so I think the best course of action would be to email some companies directly for a quote. I did see one or two people mentioning paying 40 euros a month for health insurance but this isn't any kind of official figure, just anecdotal, and from about a year ago.
Be aware that some Portuguese insurances won't provide cover to people over 55 - not a concern for you just yet but might be good to keep in mind. International insurance companies could be a better option to pursue.
For working out other expenses, have a look at our Cost of Living in Portugal page. There's a table at the bottom with an estimate of prices for various things in Portugal.
Best of luck.

Hello. Is it still possible to get an answer to the question on this thread, please? We are planning on retiring in Portugal in 5 years. We are trying to determine the monthly cost of living, including health insurance. What do you think is a reasonable monthly amount that we need to set aside for health care premium for a couple of 50 year olds, no kids?
