Hi I am new on this forum and quite new in Kuala Lumpur. Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive Arab restaurant in Kuala Lumpur apart from those in Bukit Bintang area?

Hi, Adam77! Welcome to Kuala Lumpur! There are plenty of good Arab restaurants in town. However, there are not so many inexpensive ones ;-). There is one quite unusual restaurant, a kind of an authentic rustic Arab kitchen in the neighborhood of Masjid India, serving a really wide choice of Arab dishes with all those juicy kebabs, grills, shawarma being cooked from the fresh raw ingredients supplied direct from the farm to the kitchen. It is Suria Restaurant at 388, Jalan TAR. it’s 5 mins away from SOGO mall; there is a free GoKL bus Red Line stopping just opposite it. A word of caution: do not be put off by its slightly uncomely entrance. It is worth trying their dishes. Although, I would not recommend it as a place to spend time and chat while having a meal as its interior is quite simple and not decorated. But if you want the well-balanced tastes of original Arab dishes, here they are AND priced , surprisingly, at almost half of the usual city’s prices for homely large portions.
The servings are really generous. That meal for 2 cost us just 31 RM.
And not to forget: they offer freshly-baked traditional pastries, at 4RM per portion! You ought to try it. Hope you enjoy it!
