As a guide, the Head of Information Technology at a company in Oman can expect to earn around USD 7,500 per month. Obviously, with no experience you will earn less and need to work your way up to such a salary.

Lousy place to work in. Good only for bachelors. Rentals are way too high and school education for kids also is very high. For freshers, you should look for a savings of 1500 Rials (2.5 USD)else, it is not worth the effort of relocating. (Also remember that you have to bear the workpermit and all other expenses). For experienced people over 5 years and married, look for a savings above 2500 Rials, else just not worth the effort. With children included, the pay still remains the same. Pay is real bad and pegged to basic salary of 1000 Rials. All other expenses are actuals and usually borne by the company. (The food is included in the 1000 rials and is your cost).
