I am moving with my family to Cork this autumn, I am transferring from the University of Iceland to the University College of Cork. My children are born in November 1997, June 2007 and February 2010. My concerns are; where do I apply for school/daycare for them ? Are there any agencies that help with that ? Who do I speak to ?

Hi Anna, in terms of schools in Cork, there are numerous options, and it depends on a number of factors - whether you want to send your child to a public or private school, what curriculum you would want them to follow, your budget and where in the city you will be living. If a relocation company is helping you with your move, they may be able to assist you in this. Also, speak to your colleagues at the university to find out where they are sending thier children, neighbours may also be good to chat to, as they would know the local schools in your area. It may also be worth consulting with the Irish Deparment of Education and Skills, which may be able to give you a list of schools in your area.

Good luck with your move!
