Hi Friends, I got offer from a telecom Company in Riyadh as a Telecom Trainer. I have 7 years of experience as a telecom Engineer and presently working in India. The Company in Riyadh is offering me 9000 SR/month including transportation and house rent. Please advise me if I want to live a good life with my spouse and 1 child (age 1 year) and want to make savings of around 2000 USD/month, how much salary I must get. I want to live in a good compound in Riyadh and my living style is very normal. CAN I HAVE ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED FACILITIES IN 9000 SR OR I SHOULD NEGOTIATE MORE ON THIS. KINDLY SUGGEST A BEST SALARY.

Dear Manoj,
9000 SR is a good salary in Riyadh. For ur family, u need to spend approx 1000 to 1500 max for housing. U can refer the same in local classifieds posts for rental house. Transportation approx 1 SR per km. Im spending 15 to 20 SR to go my office which is at 20 kms appx distance. If u stay near by ur office location, u can minimize ur transportation exp. Cost of living is quite reasonable here. For a bachelor it is difficult to spend even 1000 SR per month.( for example, chicken biriyani on an avg u ll get @ max 15 SR in good hotels. :) Basmati rice per kilo is approx 7 SR per kg. Food items u ll get for approx double price or little less than India. Internet high speed 4G @ 100 SR per month approx.
So ur offer 9k is good one. One more imp thing is you ll get annual hyke, approx 2 months bonus p.a. (check with ur employer)and relaxed working style, annual paid vacation etc. And if you gain 2 yrs local experience, u can find much better offer in another company (with few restrictions depends on ur employer). if ur job demands some times to work extra, OT u ll get. so what else..? If savings is ur motto, this is the best place. All the best.
