Hi , please assist I have been offered the following (monthly) Basic salary - SAR 18000 Housing allowance SAR 4500 Get a company car (fuel and insurance covered) I will be based in Riyadh , I would like to stay in a compound with my family ( 4 girls and wife ) the 2 eldest girls are school going . So how much ? Compound living School for 2 girls Average living cost ? Will the basic and housing be enough to cover all normal cost and will i still have anything left ? Please let me know Thanks

I am considering taking a position in Saudi Arabia . The employer is offering me 33000 SAR per month plus paid living accommodations. I have never worked in Saudia Arabia and would like to know is the salary reasonable and what should I expect upon arrival.

Hi Gerald, depending on your lifestyle this should be more than enough to live on and save some. Life in Saudi isn't very expensive but for sure housing and international school fees will be your main expenses. Those vary a lot but you should be OK.

i posted a reply but not sure where it's gone. Anyway this money should be more than enough to live on and save some depending on your lifestyle.

Living in a compound is a very expensive option if your employer is not providing you with accommodation and this will be a big chunk of your monthly budget.

If your employer if offering you a house/flat/villa i would suggest you take it, at least initially because it's the best way to save loads of money. Those are usually very modern, clean and well furnished and all bills are paid for. Plus this will give you time to know the city and find the best compound for you to live on.

As for schooling, the fees at international schools are also very high. On the bright side, the rest is fairly cheap in Saudi and you may get a few more perks from your employer to help you save money.
