We're moving to Oman in August as I've been offered an amazing offer that I can't refuse. We're pretty excited but a bit worried about the schooling of our kids when we get over there. We hear that expat kids pretty much have to go to private schools there. Does anyone have any insights about the schools in Oman? Can anyone recommend a good international school in Muscat? Also, what's it gonna cost us????
Oman is a popular expat destination and there are many schooling options available for expat children. Although, unless they have a grasp of the Arabic language, an international school is the best option. Have a read of our Education and schools in Oman page for a general overview of the schooling system in Oman.
Also have a look at this Expat experiences interview with Jenny, a British expat living in Muscat. She provides some insight into the schools in Oman and provides some links to the websites of international schools in Oman. If you like, also have a read of some of our other Expat experiences interviews. You might find some useful information about life in Oman.
The best of luck with your move to Oman.
