hi All, I was great reading different blog and it relly helped a lot so firth THANKS for that first. Now its question time :) I am having 7 years of experience in IT industry and got an offer from a Hong Kong based company which is offering 25K HKD per month plus a fully furnished accomodation along with a Mobile package. I will be moving with my wife. is this offer a good deal considering th experience and cost of living? Looking forward for your response. Thanks Sunil

25,000HKD per month + a fully furnished accomodation is very good for HK. I would definitely take it.

Hi Sunil,

This is a pretty good job offer especially seeing as you've also been offered fully furnished accommodation, which would set you back at least HKD 10,000 per month.

Hi Sunil,

I certainly think you'd be able to make some savings with a salary of HKD 25,000 plus a fully furnished apartment. How much you save will ultimatley depend on your spending habits and what you enjoy doing in your spare time.

There are lots of opportunities to indulge and splurge away your money in Hong Kong but it is also possible to save money by eating at home rather than in at restaurants, etc.

Hi - this link seems very useful..thank you. I am facing a similar situation above (without accommodation) but I also was curious to know how is finding finance jobs? My husband is in a well respected US finance firm in India, his company doesnt have a good presence as of now in HK, hence is it easy to find jobs being an outsider? Do you think its advisable to quit his job and move? or keep looking from India till he gets an offer in HK? We are quite worried about a scenario where he might have to sit @ home after moving there. Any suggestions?
