I'm moving to Rome in June and will be there for the next year at least. I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying a car in Italy or should I rahter just rely on the public transport in Rome?

Hi Sally, driving in Rome can be a nightmare - the roads are narrow, locals don't really worry too much about the rules of the road and parking is another whole art in itself. It may be worth rather relying on the Rome's public transport, which is adequate for getting around the city. However, if you do decide to buy a car, have a look at our Buying a Car in Italy page for what you need to know for the whole process.

Good luck with your move!
