Are public schools in Cyprus an option. Moving to Limassol in the near future with my eight-year-old and no absolutely nothing about the eduction system. Can someone please give me a rundown of schooling in Cyprus?
Well, schooling in Cyprus is something to be desired. You can send your little one to any public school, but this isn't really recommended. Pancypriot curriculum is taught entirely in Greek and little effort is made to integrate English speakers. Furthermore, teachers in Cyprus are pretty much gauranteed permanency in their job once they finally land one. Meaning, that there's little motivation to craft the next Albert Einstein.
You'll probably want to look into any one of the private schools in Limassol for your kid. There's a few different option and you'll need to consider what cost you can afford and what curriculum you prefer. Once you've decided that, go visit the school and get a feel for the environment and the parent-teacher involvement.
