Hi,
I will be moving to Sydney soon :) and have a four year old - she turns five next August. Just wanted to know what her day in a preschool will be like and how many hours a week will she be in preschool.
What is the difference betweena child care centre and pre-school. Can you please let me know on this or suggest a site where i can find info on this. I did check out mychild.gov.au but did not find information on what a typical day in a preschool is like or what all do they learn there?

In general, preschools differ in terms of what happens during the day and what their hours are. It's generally best to check with individual schools.
At the same time, have a look at our Education and Schools in Sydney as well as our Kids in Sydney pages. You should also look at our Education and Schools in Australia page. This will give you an overview of Australian education in general, including the level you're interested in, and will hopefully provide you with some context to make an informed decision.
