Hello friends. I am an American girl moving to Prague to teach English. I was wondering if there were any areas I should look into for finding an apartment. I want to be somewhere close enough to the city centre to get around without a car (I don't need a car, right?) - also if there are any American areas with other people who speak English. But not too expensive. Help??!!

Howdy Anya

By all accounts Prague 2 is known as an English-speaking area, so you could have a look there. I have a friend there at the moment who is living with two other girls in a furnished three-bedroomed spot which costs 18,000 CK overall, including electricity and water. You'll find your best option is going to be sharing a flat with other teachers and students.

Have a read through Accommodation in Czech Republic for more tips and advice on finding an apartment to rent in Prague.

Enjoy your trip - I'm sure it'll be amazing!

Hi Anya, If your budget is decent you can first stay there: http://www.apartmentsapart.com/Europe/Czech_Republic/Prague/Apartments/All?cid=447044 Dont stay too long they are quite expensive but you will be in the Center. One you there it is easy to find something or to meet people and share accomodation with them. Good Luck Aga
