My name is Francis and a native of Ghana,I was recently issued my visa to south Africa,I will like to know how easy it is to get a job and a work permit,I have a degree in psychology with just 2yrs work experience but I just want a new life in south Africa and I hope you can guide me as to what to do..thank you
Firstly, what type of visa do you have for South Africa?
If it is a work visa then that will certainly improve your job prospects. If you don't have a work visa you it isn't going to be as easy to find a job in South Africa. Affrimative action policies in South Africa mean that the employer needs to prove that they could not employ a South African for the position in order to support your application.
I moved to Cape Town from London two and half years ago on a Life Partner Visa which allows me to get an endorsment to work. Unemployment is high in South Africa and I found it wasn't easy to get a job in my field. However, I do believe that if you persevere you will eventually find the right job. Furthermore your two years of work experience should really help you.
Also, landing yourself a good job in South Africa is very much about who you know, so get networking and utilise any connections you have in your field of employment to find out about job opportunities.

Please feel let me know if u have anymore questions and good luck with your move to South Africa.
