I have a job offer from Hong Kong but they are paying me $3000. Accommodation, school fee, transport, visa and work permit expense will be on me. I have a few friends in hong kong they can help me find a house within $1000. But i am concerned about the visa expenses. I want to know will be the total cost of visa and work permit. My wife and my 3 yrs old daughter will be accompanying me. Is the visa and work permit expense a one time expense until its validity or we have to pay some amount monthly as well. I am quiet unsure if i should accept this offer as i feel $3000 will not be enough. We won't be able to save anything. Please help.

In order to obtain an employment visa, companies must sponsor foreign nationals to work for them and apply for employment visas on their employees’ behalf. This type of visa generally takes four-to-six weeks to process. The length of the visa is dependent on the employee’s contract. Visa holders can stay for the duration of their visa, even if their employment is terminated before the visa expiration date.
