Hi All,
Please forgive me for the complicated question that follows.
I am a UK citizen that currently lives in the UK. My limited company is set up in the UK and i offer technical services.
A US based company has asked my company to take on a contract with them. the job will require me to relocate to Dubai and use this location as a base for working throughout the middle east region.
Questions that i'm fighting with are;
- Do I continue to file accounts with UK HMRC even when i am earning in the UAE?
- Are there any agencies that can advise and assist in arranging sponsorship for myself and my wife?
- Will i need to open a UAE based company to keep things simple? if so do i require a UAE national to co-direct the company?
- What should i set aside for living costs monthly? (how long is a piece of string? I currently spend around £3k a month for me and my wife to live in Glasgow)
What am i missing?
I have lived in Muscat as a child, my father was with oil and so things were pretty well set out for the family. My current prospect is quite a different story and this is why i'm at a loose end.
Any and all advice is very much welcome. If you need more info, please feel free to ask and i'll do my best to add to this.
Best Regards

I should add for clarity, the US company does not have a Middle East entity. i would be functioning as their ME office.
they are US based only
