Retiring to India?

Hi all, ld really welcome anybody's views or opinions, of any Brits who have moved to Jaipur. Been inspired by the recent tele programme about the few celebs who paid a visit there. I was quite impressed actually, never considered India but having seen the fresh food, laid back lifestyle and that all elusive sunshine, lm smitten and want to go.....maybe live there forever. Now, lm no young fresh student, lve one foot in the grave, over fifty let's say, ok, sixtyish. Not all that well off so so have to live sort of, frugally, lets say! I'm fit, healthy, got about ten grand and, going by your replies, yep lve read the cost of living site.....would like to be off at the start of next winter. Right, ld want a two bedroomed furnish flat to rent, don't want it in the very smart areas Jaipur, but a decent area. Prepared to do a bit of voluntary work etc....so, hit me up f you're there, been there, liked it, loathed it ( and why) please. Thanks all for reading....happy travels, be safe.
