Any advice about finding work in Malta?

We are looking to move to Malta with a 7 year old boy. We plan to rent a property at first. My husband wants to work. He currently works for a local water authority, but is prepared to do anything from driving taxis, buses etc. I would like to work part-time when settled. Is there any advice you could give us please?
