Hello I would like to open a bank account in Dubai as I travel there a lot. However I am not a resident and therefore I don't have a visa. I would like to know if a non resident can open a bank account in Dubai. If so, which banks offer non residents accounts. Also if there is any information on the process of opening one. Thank you, Martin.

Without having residence, you cannot open an account in Dubai. Thank you.

Hi Barth, Thanks for the feedback. After seeking advice not only on this forum and from other financial advisory sources, I feel it is my duty to correct You on this subject. You can in fact open up an account if you are a non resident. Quite a few banks offer packages for non residents. The accounts aren't quite as functional as residents bank account, however they are bank accounts none the less. Just in case anyone else reads this. Don't want them following your inaccurate information. Thank you.

@Annonymous. If you don't have residence, what documents will you present to the bank? Probably, your tourist, visitors and service visas expire at 1, 3 months and 2 weeks respectively. Remember, subsidiary accounts like go cash accounts, are accepted by banks and exchanges when you present your Emirates ID and the name of your sponsor, this is to my knowledge and experience. Though, I don't know if you are talking from experience that one can open account without residence in Dubai.
