I am a Canadian citizen and my wife and kids are both Canadian and Greek Citizen. We all live in Canada for now but we are planning to move to Cyprus next year.

1) Would I be granted Permanent Resident because of the status of my wife and kids?
2) will My wife and Kids receive free health service and education?
3) If no to the question 1) if I go through the Golden Visa for Permanent Resident: Would I get Health Insurance automatically and be able to work?

Thanks

Hi hplaval, a good place to start regarding the status of your visa/residence in Cyprus would be the Civil Registry and Migration Department of Cyprus. Their website it quite comprehensive, and you should find the info you seek there, and if not, it may be worth contacting them directly.

In terms of healtcare, expats living in Cyprus on permanent residency status and EU citizens are eligible for free public healthcare.

Expat children are able to attend local public schools free of charge, although there may be some costs involved such as uniforms, books, and stationary etc.

For more information about life in Cyprus, have a look at our Expat Guide to Cyprus.
