Background

United Nations International School (UNIS) was founded in 1947 by a group of United Nations employees that wanted a global and culturally diverse education for their children. Today, the school has a student body of 1,454 made up of 109 different nationalities. Many are children of UN employees, but everyone is welcome – about half of UNIS students come from non-UN families. UNIS has one campus in New York City. The Manhattan campus caters to students from Pre-K to Grade 12.
