Relocating to Dubai

Hello. I am planning on relocating to Dubai. I am would really appreciate some advice on what to expect - in particular what is the lifestyle like, is Dubai unbearibly hot? Is there much to do at weekends, do expats leave the city? Is there a good expat scene, what are most expats like! I am quite excited about the idea of relocating to Dubai and would love to hear some first-hand advice. Where do most expats live in Dubai? Do people live in apartments or in houses.
