What salary would a Canadian qualified family physician (GP) with 5 years of experience expect to earn in Bahrain (or Qatar). I have searched forums but have not found any information on salary for physicians. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
I can't tell you exatcly what the salary range for physcian would be as it would depend very much on your experience and specific qualifications. However, I think a good way to start is to consider the cost of living in either of those destinations. You need to bear in mind that in the past companies in the Middle East used to offet more lucrative packages to entice expats to relocate .As a result of the global recession employment packages now don't include as many add-ons like housing allowances, transport allowances and the payment of children's school fees.
It will be up to you to negotiate a suitable contract with your employer and this will also depend on you personal circumstances such as wether you are moving to the Middle East with a family as well as the lifestyle you choose to live.
