I am a 51year old british female (much younger at heart) and moved to Doha in March of this year for my husbands job. It is our second ex pat posting but I am finding it very difficult to meet other ex pat wives. Please can anyone advise me or help me on this.
You'll find that the majority of female expats are in a similar position to yourself, in that they have had to relocated to Doha as a result of their husband's job.
If you are living in a compound, you should get to know your neighbours and their famillies. The chances are that they are in the same boat and will be able to give you some guidance on how to settle in to life in Qatar.
You could also look online for women's groups that suit your interests, that way you will get a chance to meet likeminded people.
Hi Setra
Two groups that are great for newcomers are AWA (American Womens Association - don't be mislead by the name as there are many Brits and others who attend events) and QPWN (Qatar Professional Womens Network). Many of the QPWN are unemployed or under-employed or part time workers so please don't let the title affect you there either. If you have kids, go to Doha Mums as that is popular. Hope you find something you enjoy.

Read our pages on Women in Qatar and Lifestyle in Qatar to get an idea of how to connect with other expats in Doha.
I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions.
Good luck!
