My husband and myself are thinking of moving to Kenya and our 24 year old son would like to come with us and open a gym. What type of work visa would he need

Hi Sharon Eyre,
Opening a gym in Kenya places you in the category of starting a business. You would therefore apply for a Class G Work Permit. In order to get this Work Permit, you will have to have proof of capital invested amounting to a min of USD 100,000. There is a non-refundable processing fee of KES 10,000 plus once the permit is approved you will need to pay KES 100,000. This will last you for 2 years, where you will need to renew with the same costs again. There are other work permits which can be worked out for you. I will inform you that obtaining work permits in Kenya is quite a difficult process due to bribes, cons etc. It is unfortunately common for work permit processes to be stuck at immigration with no movement for even over a year due to refusal of bribes. We are an immigration agency that can help you obtain your work permits quite efficiently. Let's communicate via email. You can reach me at [email protected] (http://fathershandltd.wordpress.com/)
I look forward to hearing from you:-)
