Hi there

Thanks for the insights on real estate in Hong Kong. My question now is a bit more broad, but still important, I think. What is it like working in Hong Kong? What are the people like? How far does your money go?

Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gerald

People in Hong Kong generally take work very seriously. On average, working hours tend to be longer and the environment is often quite formal. For more info, have a look at Working in Hong Kong.

The people in Hong Kong tend to be friendly, and Western expats often find the transition a bit easier than in other Asian countries because English is quite widely spoken. Have a look at our Culture Shock in Hong Kong page, which gives a bit more detail on this.

As for how far your money goes, check Cost of Living in Hong Kong to get an idea.

Best,
