I am looking for an academic position at a university in Thailand. Are there significant cultural differences in the application process that I need to take into account (formatting of CV, style of cover letter, etc.)? Additionally, any advice regarding the job hunt would be welcome. Thank you.

Hi Professor

You may want to see how the political issues in Thailand play out after the elections which are due to be held on February 2nd. That said, there are still many Westerners working in Thailand and there have been no reports of Western workers or tourists being affected by the demonstrations against the Shinawatra regime yet.

As for the composition of your cover letter and CV, a range of online resources are available which provide information on structure and content. Hopefully an expat with some first hand experience can help us with this.

All the best
