British Midwife thinking of moving to Singapore to work. Just looking into it so would welcome any information on salaries, working hours, lifestyles, reputable hospitals etc. Any information is appreciated.
Hi there,
We had a baby in Singapore in 2011 and most obstetricians don't use midwives. There are a few (and I do mean a very few) that do.
Luckily there are places such as Mother and Child at Tanglin Mall which offer access to trained midwives for a fee: http://www.motherandchild.com.sg/
All of the hospitals are reputable and you will find that a lot of the doctors and nursing staff (and even the lactation consultants) have trained in the UK.
If you need any more help, please feel free to message me as we moved back to the UK about 6 months ago after living there for 2 years.

Thanks guys for that information. Will have a look at the said links and see what I can find out. Im currently working in Dubai at the moment but thought Singapore sounded interesting. I have visited there as a tourist a few times many years ago, but becoming a resident is another story. Thanks again, appreciate it. Paula x
