We're moving to Sao Paulo in the summer and I am in the process of organising my kids schooling. We're coming for New York. Can anyone recommend a good international school in Sao Paulo? What's the education system like there in general? Are there any good privtae schools we could also consider?

Hi Jenny, Sao Paulo is a very multicultural city and there are many options when it comes to education and schools. Due to the fact that classes in public and private schools are all taught in Portuguese (although some private schools offer bilingual education), the majority of expats in the city send their children to international schools, of which there are a number to choose from. Depending on your children's Portuguese proficiency, your best bet would most likely be to send your kids to an international school. As you're coming from the States - you'll most likely want to consider the various schools that offer an American curriculum. For a list of schools in the city, have a look at our International Schools in Sao Paulo section, and for more on the general education system in the city, have a read of Education and Schools in Sao Paulo.

All the best with your decision!
