Hi, is it easy to find a compound style apartment fully furnished? We would prefer to leave in an expat area but in an accommodation fully furnished. Any advice will be great. Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my both questions. I will certainly visit the pages you suggested and need to go and see some schools and apartments to get a better understanding.
Hi Xavier!
Is it easy to live downtown Abu Dhabi and function without a car? I will work at the ECAE and am coming alone. I really don't want the hassle of a car. What are the areas near ECAE where expats live? Are there compounds? I see the map but I have no idea about the neighborhoods. There's another person looking into this too. Any suggestions would be so very helpful. I'm going over in August.

Most expats don't use a car when they first move to Abu Dhabi, because the roads really are something you have to see for yourself and get used to. Many people use taxis, there is a public bus service (which will need a bit of research on your part) and some are lucky enough to be able to hire a driver.
Hi Newbie
Our Accommodation in Abu Dhabi and Areas and Suburbs in Abu Dhabi pages give some guidance on finding the kind of property you want, as well as the kinds of properties you're likely to find in different areas.
I hope those help while you wait for a more specific response.
Good luck,
Xavier

Have a look at our Transport and Driving in Abu Dhabi page, as well as our Areas and Suburbs in Abu Dhabi page to get more of an idea of the characteristics of the city's neighbourhoods.
Good luck for your move!
