Do EU citizens need work permits to be self-employed in Spain?

Destination: Spain

We have been living in Spain for 7 years and my husband has worked legally all the time, paid contributions etc.

He has now decided to go self employed with a Spanish partner. He has now been told that his work permit expired, though he has never seen it.

When did Spain introduce work permits for EU people? He has been to the police station who told him to bring some documents in and not to worry, the government are changing things all the time. Does anyone know how long this will take to get a work permit?

Information Needed for moving to Abu Dhabi

Destination: Abu Dhabi

Hello, I have been offered a job by an Indian IT Company for their client in Abu Dhabi (Govt. bank there). I have been offered a package of 16000 dirham per month. I have my wife who is house-wife and would be moving along with me. I am confused as whether this package is sufficient enough for Abu-Dhabi and whether I would be able to save anything with this package as I would require 1 BHK flat, transportation to office and other daily as well as family expenses. About me, I am vegetarian, non smoker and non drinker.

Is Kenya safe for foreigners now?

My husband and I are looking to take a career break and a great opportunity has come up to do some volunteering in Kenya. While I have heard lots of great things about Kenya, I am worried about political violence flaring up again. How serious is this problem now ? What about crime, will it be a major concern ? Are there any places we should avoid on our travels ?

Advice on moving to Abu Dhabi with a family

Hi. Graet work you are doing there... Cheers. I just arrived in AbuDhabi with a work visa. I missed this school academic year. My wife and 2 kids are still back home as the school (IGSCE curricula) there started in Aug. I want to be ready for the new term in Jan. & hence should apply for their residency and stuff ASAP. What are the requirements for the wife and the kids (15 and 12 yrs age) to get their passports residency stamped and get all the other related docs/certifs. Does most of school require admission assessment tests?

What's the healthcare in Zambia like?

I'm considering taking up an engineering position in Zambia, but with a recurring health problem which requires frequent visits to the doctor, I'm a bit worried about whether I'll be able to get decent healthcare in Zambia. I have heard so many different stories about public vs pruvate hospitalsand what I can expect of medical facilities there. Anyone out there who has experienced the Zambian healthcare system who can give me some insights???

Short-term accommodation in Lagos

Destination: Lagos

Hi I'm coming to Lagos in Oct and have an inteview on Victoria Island.

Does anyone know a reasonable priced play to stay in VI or in Lagos that would not be a problem to get back and forth.

I am thinking more in the low range say 40 USD per night or if someone has a room to rent for one week for me and my husband.

I have been approached by a company based is KSA for a similar role. I need some advice regarding salary, relocation etc. during the negotiating stage. In the UK i was on 45K per annum with a 10% bonus on top.

Can anyone help with teaching jobs in Brussels?

Hello.

My wife has accepted a position in Brussels and we will be moving there in October. I am a teacher (English as a Second Language, English, German, Coaching, Student Advisement, Student Discipline) with 16 years of experience (incl. 6 years of International experience in Germany). I have done a lot of networking/research on schools but I can always use more help. Best case scenario would be to hopefully find someone that knows someone within a school, make the introduction and then I could take it from there. I would appreciate any help/guidance that can be given.

Hi, I have recently received a job offer from the British International School in Lagos for a teaching position. I was approached through the job hunting site that i was registered with. The package seems fine, the salary is also reasonable I reckon, However, I did not find the email much on the academic language. They have asked me for my documents yet I have not submitted anything to them. Is there anyone who could be kind enough to provide me with some information about the ingenuity of the school? International student in Saint Petersburg: work opportunities, opening a bank account, safety, etc

Hello, I finally decided to go to Saint Petersburg, Russia to study. I already issued the student visa. It was pretty easy to issue the Russian student visa. Can't be more excited. I will arrive the 20th of October. I have bought the tickets today! What about interest rates in Russia? What is the interest rate per month? I would arrive next month with 4000-4700 euros. And later I would be receiving 1200 EUR per month to live. I know it is quite a good amount to be a student, but I wanna work to have extra money and not depend on my parents. I wanna be more independent. I am 19 years old.

Hi Team, Please advise if a resignation acceptance or resignation confirmation is required to get a job in dubai, as I see a work permit is taking a long time. Can i get a job in 2 to 3 weeks when I come with a visitor visa to Dubai and then can i come and resign my job and sever 30 days notice and then join the job in Dubai.

What difficulties should we expect as Americans migrating to Oslo?

Hello there! I'm a bit confused, do American citizens need a visa if entering Norway? My husband, 5 yr old daughter and I are seriously considering Oslo as our future destination and hopefully country of permanent residence. We were living over 10 yrs in Athens Greece, then due to austerity measures came back to the US but I am very appalled by the violence in this country. Things are certainly not the way I left them back in 94' and now raising a young child I dread even leaving her at school. I just needed a bit of guidance.

Western expat social groups in Khobar or Dammam?

Hello! Coming from Jeddah my dear wife (Romanian) and me (German) recently arrived in Al Khobar. Since end of 2009 we are living in KSA. In Jeddah we were lucky to find something that you can call traces of western cultural life. Mainly events organized and supported by various consulates being sited there. Here in Khobar we up to now are missing that highly. Are there any cultural and social events in the eastern provinces? Are there people organizing or knowing about those?

Passport issues in Dubai

Hi! May be you can advise me... I've already in a country with my 60-days limited employment visa and need to finish medicals and other procedure next week. BUT I have no ORIGINAL of 60-days visa (only copy ) and have ENTRY stamp at my passport - Because office at the airport Dubai told me he khows his job better and didn't give the original. And stamped passport.... Is it ok? can I still get the residency visa???
