Thanks for the advice on banking. Will probably keep my international account as I'm only going for a year. That said, I'm diabetic and would feel better knowing a bit about healthcare and the hospitals in Qatar.

What is the best way to find a job before you move to Amsterdam when still living in the states? Is there a process to it all? I've never had to find a job outside of even the state I live in... I'm seriously considering an offer to move to Qatar, and was wondering what my choices are with regards to banking in Qatar. Is it better to have a local account in Qatar, or should I keep my account at home? What are the pros and cons?

I am about to move to Brussels with my two kids, aged 11 and 9. They are both being educated in the French system, and I want to put them into a public school in Brussels. The problem is that we should move in a couple of months and my daughter is in what seems to correspond to the Belgian 6th grade. Meaning that she should take this CEB (or whatever it is called) test and move on to the secondary school as of September. My son is in what corresponds to Belgian 4th grade, so I guess it would be easier for him.

I'm just worried about the schooling there as I've heard very mixed reviews about international schools in Kuwait. Can anyone recommend any good international schools there?

Net monthly salary (including all allowances) = 2500 USD / 28 Million IDR in Jakarata. As a single expat i will have to manage housing, food, travel, any recreation, salary of any domestic help, driver, car /taxi etc - all from within 2500 USD. No extra allownce etc. Salary will be paid in IDR. What kind of housing and quality of life, car etc can i afford in Jakarta.

I travelled to Fiji last year and totally fell in love with the place. At christmas, I am returning but I have plans to stay their more long-term.

Just have some questions regarding work visas. I am struggling to find a job in Fiji at the moment so what I am hoping is that once I arrive I can start networking and interviewing for positions. Then once I've got the job I will just change my tourist visa to a work permit. Does that make sense ?

Anyone got any experience with applying for a visa for Fiji ? Does it take long?
