The weather in Singapore is warm, wet and humid owing to its unique location, just a few degrees off the equator. There is hardly any variation in temperature in Singapore – the mercury never seems to stray too far from the 86°F (30°C) mark.
It rains throughout the year in the Lion City. The monsoon season in the last few months of each year and the first few months of the new year bring frequent showers and gloomy skies.
Singapore's high level of humidity, usually between 70 and 90 percent, is what most people consider the most significant culprit when it comes to weather-related discomfort in Singapore. Surface winds tend to be light and don't provide any real relief.
The UV intensity in Singapore can be extreme. Always use sunblock, preferably SPF 30 or higher, when outdoors for extended periods, reapplying often. It's also always wise to have an umbrella handy in case of showers.
